Falling For My Straight Friend…
Hey all,
I met this great woman about a month ago in a college class. I was flirting with her a bit because I thought she was lesbian upon first meeting her (she seems pretty butch- boy hair, clothes, etc.) but it turns out she’s just a tomboy and has been engaged to a guy for a couple of years.
We became friends and “clicked” instantly. I’ve had a crush on her since I first met her, but I’ve tried to move past that and just treat her like a close friend of mine. Now we’re spending tons of time together and I feel like I’m falling in love with her. Of course I know we’ll never have a relationship but I still can’t get these feelings to go away. She knows I’m lesbian but not that I feel this way about her.
I don’t want to avoid her because she is such a wonderful friend, but I don’t know if my heart can take this! She wants me to be in her wedding this July, and I’d love to, but I feel disloyal to her because of these feelings…
What should I do?

OK… I am straight (so far), but felt like I had to answer your question. (I’m actually working my nerve up to ask my own. lol)
If I had a lesbian friend who may or may not have feelings for me, I would still want her at my wedding. FRIEND. Hello! Being a friend is what she needs now. You are totally NOT betraying her by having feelings for her.
