Going Out On A Limb
Well, I have never done this before; tried to make friends through the Internet that is. I have just moved (all by my self) from Michigan to Massachusetts for a new job. My work keeps me very busy and can be kind of isolating. So here I am one of the only out lesbians in a small town 30 miles outside of Boston and not sure how to meet women except to go to bars, which I am not really into… especially by myself in a new place.
Any suggestions? Anyone out there? I am not looking for sex, I am looking for women to hang out with and make friends with.

There are tons of lesbians in the suburbs of Boston. Are you north, south or west of the city? You should pick up a copy of Bay Windows to find the more formal groups (eg wobbles-west of boston lesbians).Once you find those, you will find all the informal groups (book clubs, parenting groups, folk nites, etc..) There are also other social groups (professional women networks, sports networks, etc.). I guess it depends on your age group,interest and willingness to travel.
I am northwest of the city right along the 495 belt and can testify to the legions of lesbians in the Acton/Maynard area…
